WWE has officially announced that John Cena will make his return to WWE television at next Friday’s (September 1) episode of SmackDown in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
Cena last appeared on WWE television at WWE Money In The Bank in London on July 1, where he petitioned for WrestleMania to be brought to London, before going face to face with Grayson Waller.
Along with the September 1 episode of SmackDown, Cena is also set to appear at the WWE Superstar Spectacle event in India the following week.
Ahead of Cena’s return, Waller took to Twitter to send a message to Cena, sharing a picture of him attacking Cena from Money In The Bank, and the caption:
While it has not been confirmed whether or not Cena will wrestle on either SmackDown or Superstar Spectacle, but with the latter being a big event, it’s likely that he will step into the ring on that show.
Cena last wrestled in the opening match of WrestleMania 39, where he was defeated by Austin Theory.
