Gunther’s Next WWE Intercontinental Title Challenger Revealed

Gunther’s Next WWE Intercontinental Title Challenger Revealed WWE

The next challenger for Gunther’s Intercontinental Championship has now been revealed on tonight’s WWE Raw.

A backstage segment tonight saw Adam Pearce make a four-way match between Ricochet, Chad Gable, Matt Riddle and Tommaso Ciampa to determine the next number one contender to the Intercontinental Championship.

Following on from what he started last week, it was Chad Gable who won the match in his hometown of Minneapolis tonight.

After the win, Gable adorably ran around the ring with his young son on his shoulder while the little guy was sweetly dressed up just like his Dad.

There’s no date confirmed yet for the Gunther vs Gable title match, but we’ll keep you updated.

On last week’s Raw, Gunther said Gable wouldn’t even be able to last five minutes with him, which he did, but when the match restarted and it went a little longer, Gunther did end up winning.

If Gunther can remain champion until September 7, he’ll break the all-time record for the longest WWE Intercontinental Title reign ever.

Elsewhere on WWE Raw, the night kicked off with a promo segment that will lead to the night’s main event, a six-man tag match pitting Seth Rollins, Cody Rhodes and Sami Zayn against the Judgment Day’s Finn Balor, Damian Priest and Dominik Mysterio.
