Former WWE Champion Rob Van Dam became a big star in the wrestling world during his time in ECW, before going on to also find success in WWE and TNA.
With WrestleMania XL headed to Philadelphia next year, many had expected that many ECW alumni, including RVD, would make appearances for the show.
RVD recently made an appearance for AEW, where he faced Jack Perry for the FTW Championship on Dynamite, and RVD has hinted that his AEW appearance may have caused his WrestleMania weekend appearances to be cancelled.
Speaking on his 1 of a Kind podcast, he said:
“Maybe I’d show you if I was doing a WWE tour WrestleMania weekend, but I have good reason to believe that might be cancelled because of a recent appearance I might have done, with permission, for a different company. Right now, I don’t feel like I can talk too much about that.”
RVD revealed after his AEW appearance that he had WWE’s permission to appear on the show.
He also discussed the possibility of a return to AEW after his match with Jack Perry, which you can see here.
