An AEW star has reacted to a history-making win on this week’s special ‘Title Tuesday’ edition of AEW Dynamite.
As one of two title matches on the card, Saraya saw her run as AEW Women’s World Champion end after only six weeks, losing the belt to Hikaru Shida.
Despite assistance from Ruby Soho and her trusty can of green spraypaint, Shida took home the title once again, setting a new record in the women’s division in the process.
Shida’s win makes her the first-ever three-time holder of the title, an accolade she was clearly proud of based from her reactionary tweet after the massive win.
Shida said, alongside a picture of herself, post-match:
AaaahaahahAaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The first 3 time AEW Women’s World Champion ever!!!!!!!!!
(Why my face always green)
#AEWDynamite #AEW #AndNew #HolyShida
There was also another new champion crowned in the other championship match on the night as Orange Cassidy reclaimed the International Championship after defeating Rey Fenix.
