Injured AEW Star Set To Return To The Road, But Not To Wrestle AEW

An injured AEW star is set to return to the road for the company, but not to wrestle.

Thunder Rosa has been off AEW television since she was sidelined with a back injury last August.

After her announcement that she would have to step away from competition, All Elite Wrestling created an Interim AEW Women’s World Championship that eventually became the undisputed AEW Women’s Championship due to Rosa’s extended absence.

It has remained unknown when the former champion will return to the ring since then.

On the latest edition of Busted Open Radio, Rosa revealed that she is set to return to the road with AEW soon. While discussing Saraya and Toni Storm turning heel on AEW Dynamite and a potential AEW homegrown vs. AEW import feud, Rosa said:

“Since we’re talking about AEW, I’m probably going to be coming back on the road pretty soon.”

“Not to wrestle, but we’re going to be out at AEW and showing face and being around all this stuff. It’s going to be nice to be around everyone and see how things unfold.”

As previously reported, Thunder Rosa revealed in December that she was lifting again, but wasn’t cleared to be back in the ring.

On the January 18 edition of AEW Dynamite, Toni Storm defeated Willow Nightingale thanks to a distraction from Saraya. Following the bout, Storm and Saraya jumped Willow to officially turn heel.

We will have further updates on Thunder Rosa’s status with All Elite Wrestling when they become available.
