“It’s The Best Storyline In Years” – Rusev On Lana And Lashley Angle

The ongoing saga of Rusev’s wife Lana leaving him for Bobby Lashley that has been playing out on Raw in recent weeks has been somewhat polarising.

Some enjoy the Attitude Era-esque trash TV nature of the angle – which has been backed up in some cases with improved quarter hour ratings during the segments – while others think they are the worse thing on WWE television.

The segments are also incredibly popular on YouTube, drawing millions of viewers, a massive increase on WWE’s usual YouTube output.

Rusev falls firmly in the former camp. Speaking to UK tabloid The Sun, the Bulgarian claimed:

“It’s great, I think we are in the best storyline currently going on and the best storyline that’s been around for years. It’s getting a lot of views and a lot of eyes on it. Some people like it, some people love it, but at the end of the day, it’s the hottest storyline going on.”

Rusev and Lashley are expected to be kept apart on television for a little longer as far as a stepping in the ring together goes, with a match apparently set for the TLC pay-per-view in December.

We just hope given WWE’s penchant for wacky stipulation bouts that this does not lead to an eventual Lana on a Pole match, which is the sort of thing WCW would have done with a storyline like this.
