Jade Cargill has commented on her time with AEW, revealing what she learned ahead of her joining WWE.
Cargill made her pro-wrestling debut with AEW in 2020, teaming with Shaquille O’Neal to defeat Red Velvet and Cody Rhodes in her major debut match.
Cargill received a considerable push following this, becoming the promotion’s first TBS Champion and maintaining an undefeated streak for almost all of her AEW tenure.
This is why it surprised many fans when Cargill decided to leave AEW and make the jump to WWE in September 2023.
Speaking with Denise Salcedo, Cargill noted that she had a great experience starting her wrestling career with AEW.
Praising both AEW and WWE, she said:
“I felt like I would’ve never got a better start other than AEW, and that’s me being very honest. I think the veterans in the locker room prepared me for the grander stage at WWE.
“I got a great experience there; being thrown in the water and being able to swim and survive has prepared me for the big stage that WWE has. And the locker room and the phenomenal staff that the WWE has—I mean, they have a front office like no other. I’m just excited to be here.”
Cargill made her WWE in-ring debut during Saturday’s (January 27) Royal Rumble match.
The ex-AEW star had an impressive showing, eliminating the likes of Nia Jax and the returning Naomi.
Jade Cargill has now exchanged heartfelt messages with another WWE star following their reunion, which you can read more about right here.
