Jeff Cobb ‘Game’ For IWGP Tag Team Title Match Against AEW’s FTR AEW

IWGP Tag Team Champion Jeff Cobb has stated that he’s open to a multi-title match against AEW’s FTR.

Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler currently hold both the AAA and ROH Tag Team Titles.

Speaking during the recent United Empire online meet & greet, Cobb pointed out that he currently holds a tag title that FTR have never held, noting:

“As a tag team, I respect — I respect (FTR) as wrestlers. They put on great matches, they don’t do anything too flashy, they get down to the point which is what? Wrestling, so props them.

“I saw that they won the Ring of Honor Tag Team Championships and then they also have… AAA Champions? I don’t even know… okay, I don’t care but what they don’t have is the IWGP Tag Team Championships.

“So listen, if they want a shot, I mean if the powers that be are willing to have them lose to us, that’s totally fine because that’s what gonna happen so, but I mean, I think it would be a great match.

“Like I said, stylistically, I respect everything that they do, but I wouldn’t mind having the Ring of Honor Tag Team Championships alongside this right here. Yeah, I’m down, I’m game.”

The United Empire captured the IWGP Tag Team Championship at NJPW Hyper Battle 2022. The faction was victorious over Bullet Club in 12-man tag team action at Saturday’s NJPW Windy City Riot event.

In the closing moments of the show, Jon Moxley issued a challenge to a major NJPW star, which you can read more about right here.
