It looks like Jim Ross is done forever with WWE.
WWE announced during Extreme Rules last night (June 14) that next week’s Raw taping will be a “Raw Reunion” show, with many former stars and legends returning…for whatever reason.
The full list of returning stars is as follows:
- Stone Cold Steve Austin
- Hulk Hogan
- Ric Flair
- Shawn Michaels
- Razor Ramon
- Diesel
- Kurt Angle
- Sgt. Slaughter
- Christian
- Ted DiBiase
- Eric Bischoff
- The Boogeyman
- Bret Hart
- The Hurricane
- Santino Marella
- Jerry Lawler
- D-Von Dudley
One name not on that list is former commentator and Hall of Famer Jim Ross. I can almost hear you shouting: “Well yeah, he works for AEW now, you idiot”, but actually, Ross was invited by WWE.
WrestleZone tweeted from an interview with Ross, where JR explained that he had been invited and that AEW owner Tony Khan was all for it, but it was he himself that declined to go.
.@JRsBBQ reveals that Vince recently pitched to him to do a reunion show in July. Tony Khan was all for it, but JR still turned it down. #GrillingJR @WRESTLEZONEcom pic.twitter.com/USip6X2IKM

He did not explain why, but perhaps he doesn’t want to be mocked in the same way Billy Gunn was at the Hall of Fame ceremony earlier this year.
