John Cena WWE Update Ahead Of WrestleMania 39 WWE

An update has emerged on John Cena WWE plans, ahead of a potential appearance at WrestleMania 39 in April.

With WrestleMania 39 set to emanate from California’s SoFi Stadium with a Hollywood theme, it has been speculated that several major names will be part of the show.

One of the rumored names is John Cena, who is currently having a successful run as a Hollywood actor.

Fightful Select (subscription required) has now corroborated a previous report from WrestlingNews.co that there were ‘loose plans’ for John Cena to face Logan Paul.

Fightful noted that they don’t know where this currently stands, pointing out that WrestlingNews.co’s report was accurate as of November.

John Cena most recently appeared for WWE on the December 30, 2022 edition of SmackDown,

The report also revealed that there were plans for Cena to film something with Austin Theory during the December 30 taping.

Theory, who currently holds the WWE US Championship, had been teasing a rivalry with the 16-time World Champion for most of 2022.

Some have predicted that Cena will face Theory at the April 1-2 event, rather than Logan Paul.

Following his bout with Roman Reigns at Crown Jewel in November, Paul stated that he wanted to face Cena at WrestleMania 39.

Paul is currently recovering from a torn ACL, which he suffered at Crown Jewel.
