Konnan Picks Winner of Dominik vs Rey Mysterio WrestleMania Match

Konnan Picks Winner of Dominik vs Rey Mysterio WrestleMania Match WWE

Former WWE, WCW star and current MLW and AAA producer Konnan may have a lot of ties away from WWE, however, there is one major WrestleMania angle that has a lot of interest for him in particular.

That being the not yet announced father vs son clash between Rey and Dominik Mysterio.

Konnan and Rey Mysterio are incredibly close friends with Rey reportedly asking Konnan to induct him into the WWE Hall Of Fame on March 31st.

Not only that, but Konnan is also Dominik’s godfather, which puts the 59-year-old in a tight spot as to picking a side.

Despite his split loyalty, Konnan has made it clear who should win the match between the two at WrestleMania, telling MuscleManMalcolm that the younger Mysterio should get the rub at the ‘Show of Shows’.

He said:

“I would put Dominik over, you know? Rey’s already over. Yeah, that would get mega heat,”

Speaking on Dom’s recent status as a despicable heel, K-Dawg would reveal that he never saw his godson succeeding in the role due to him being ‘too nice’, explaining:

“You know how you meet guys that are naturally nice guys, they don’t really have any malice? Rey’s like that and Dom’s like that because he raised him like that.”

Despite the on-screen familial turmoil, Konnan revealed how much he’s enjoyed Dom’s recent character and nastiness towards his father Rey.

He added:

“That whole Prison Dom thing got over like a million bucks, and just the fact that he’s being disrespectful to his dad, who is universally loved. Yeah, I’m super happy.”

As mentioned, the Dominik vs Rey match has not yet been made official, with Rey still refusing to hit his son with only two weeks to go until WrestleMania 39.
