Lacey Evans To Fill Top Role After Ronda Rousey Leaves

Despite what she might say, it is widely expected that Ronda Rousey will not be a WWE Superstar by the end of this year, with reports suggesting she is leaving either after WrestleMania or in the summer.

Ronda’s departure will leave a big hole to fill in WWE, and according to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Lacey Evans is the person WWE want in that role.

“The three people the division will be built around are Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch and Lacey Evans.”

Evans’ frequent cameos on shows are reportedly Vince’s way of slowly introducing her as a character on both Monday and Tuesday nights, with the goal of having her as a big star in the future.

Meltzer explained that plans can of course change and it may transpire that Evans doesn’t have enough quality to stay at the top, but that this is the plan as of right now.

While it is understood that she is still inexperienced in the ring, WWE officials like her character and her background as a marine. It is believed that he ties to the armed forces will make her a character that mainstream media will like.

She’s undeniably a very impressive athlete and given time could probably develop into a good in-ring talent. Being tall and blonde doesn’t hurt when you work for Vince McMahon.

Do you think Lacey has what it takes to be one of the top stars of the women’s division? Let us know in the comments.
