There has been an update in the contract news regarding top WWE star Cody Rhodes after slightly conflicting tales have come to light.
Although the details may be ‘confused’, the take-home message actually has not changed.
According to the latest report from Fightful Select, despite an interim report from Wrestling Observer which suggested a contract extension had already been inked with Rhodes, it has not.
Sources ‘close to Cody Rhodes’ note that while the initial offer from WWE was came in October, no deal was signed at that point.
However, an agreement is in place and ‘one is expected to be signed’ said the source.
So while the nuances of the story may have shifted, the overall take home message appears to have remains very much the same.
WWE is looking to sign Cody for the long-term as other pillar stars have recently re-signed including Bayley, Charlotte Flair and Rey and Dominik Mysterio.
Next up for Cody Rhodes in WWE, the resurrection of the Bull Rope match as he takes on Shinsuke Nakamura on December 26, 2023
