Some photos of this year’s intriguing Money in the Bank ladder match concept at WWE headquarters have been leaked on social media.
Both the men’s and women’s Money in the Bank ladder matches this year will start with eight competitors on the ground floor of WWE HQ, with the briefcase hanging above the roof, the first one that gets to the roof and pulls it down is the winner and receives the contract for a guaranteed title match.
The matches have already been taped and will be presented in a cinematic fashion, and they’re absolutely going to be completely different from Money in the Bank matches of the past, but it’s a shame there’re two of them as that sort of weakens the uniqueness a little bit.
Twitter account Solowrestling has posted images of the setup on the roof, which you can see below:
The currently announced card for the May 10 Money in the Bank pay-per-view is as follows:
-
WWE CHAMPIONSHIP
Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Seth Rollins
-
UNIVERSAL CHAMPIONSHIP
Braun Strowman (c) vs. Bray Wyatt
-
MEN’S MONEY IN THE BANK LADDER MATCH
Daniel Bryan vs. Aleister Black vs. Apollo Crews vs. Rey Mysterio vs. TBC vs. TBC
-
WOMEN’S MONEY IN THE BANK LADDER MATCH
Asuka vs. Shayna Baszler vs. Nia Jax vs. Dana Brooke vs. TBC vs. TBC
-
SMACKDOWN WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP
Bayley (c) vs. Tamina
Two matches that definitely seem to be the direction but have yet to be officially announced are the Street Profits defending the Raw Tag Team Championship against the Viking Raiders, and New Day defending the SmackDown Tag Team Championship in a three-way against Miz & Morrison and the Usos.
