Liv Morgan injury update

Liv Morgan injury update

As we have already reported, Liv Morgan was injured on Raw last night by a pair of accidental but reckless Brie Bella kicks to the face. The blows left Morgan unconscious in the middle of the ring for several seconds.

Bella tried to continue the match despite Morgan not moving. After going for a near fall she dragged her by the head to her corner so she could tag out to her Riott Squad teammates. Morgan briefly returned to the match to perform a triple suplex spot before disappearing after the commercial break to be further checked over.

Backstage after the match, Morgan was assessed by WWE officials, who were looking for signs of a potential concussion. If Morgan has suffered a concussion then there is no time frame for her return.

Some wrestlers come back within days, as was the case with Finn Balor last year after receiving a concussion from Jinder Mahal during a match on Raw. For others, like Bret Hart (who was kicked in the head by Goldberg during a match at Starrcade ’99) the injury can be career-ending.

Could it have been handled better?

There has been much criticism bandied around for how the injury was handled. Brie Bella and the referee Darrick Moore in particular have taken the brunt. Both were criticised for panicking after the injury and not doing anything to help protect Morgan.

Protocol dictates that the match should have been stopped, at least temporarily, but both continued, seemingly unaware of what to do.

Bella has since put out a statement on Twitter about the incident:

As you can see, Brie does not really address the injury or what went wrong. That resulted in hosts of fans taking her to task for being a “dangerous” and “sloppy” worker, which has unfortunately been a frequent criticism of her matches of late.

We will have more news on Liv Morgan’s condition as it becomes available.

Do you think Brie Bella is at fault for injuring Liv Morgan? Is she a sloppy worker or do accidents simply happen? Let us know!
