Becky Lynch Comments On Winning WWE Women’s World Championship WWE

The April 22 episode of WWE Raw saw Becky Lynch victorious in a Battle Royal to determine the new WWE Women’s World Champion.

The match can be seen below this video and saw Becky Lynch eliminate Liv Morgan to become the new champion.

In a WWE Digital Exclusive (that can also be seen below this news story), Lynch reflected on her victory, saying:

“It feels great to hear [I’m the WWE Women’s World Champion]. I’ve never held this championship before. Look at it, it’s beautiful, it’s beautiful.

“Look, for the last few months, Rhea even said it, I’ve been burning the candle all out.

“I’ve been away from my daughter for weeks on end. Got myself a New York Times bestseller for a damn near month.

“But man, it’s worth it. It’s worth it because the words of my book are written on my gear.

“It reminds me why I do this, where I started, where I’ve gotten to. We’re just going up, baby.”

Lynch then discussed the importance of the championship, referencing her daughter, Roux, adding:

“Everything that I do, I want to make her proud. I hope she’s proud. She did [stay up late to watch the match].

“I got a text from my husband [Seth Rollins], who’s recovering from surgery.

“At all stages, we need at least one champ in the house, so I’m bringing it home, baby.”

Rollins lost the WWE World Heavyweight Championship to Drew McIntyre (who would lose it to Damian Priest) at WrestleMania 40.

Having competed twice at WrestleMania 40, Rollins underwent surgery for a grade two MCL tear and partially torn meniscus on April 16.

The injury was sustained back in January in his match against Jinder Mahal on WWE Raw.
