John Cena interview
John Cena did his interview with Michael Cole. Cole asked about Cena beating Wyatt at WrestleMania XXX. Cena talked about how Wyatt’s life fell about because he gave up not because Cena beat him. He said no one ever talks about how he was buried when he lost to CM Punk, The Rock, Rob Van Dam, Brock Lesnar or The Undertaker. He was asked why he antagonized Wyatt even though that’s not what happened.
Cena said he answered a challenge. He wants WWE to invest in their future but Bray Wyatt is not that future. He said they should be investing in people like Drew McIntyre, Tomasso Ciampa, Rhea Ripley, Matt Riddle, and Velveteen Dream instead of the most overhyped star in WWE.
Bray Wyatt is at ringside and he said Cena craves the spotlight. He said Cena beating him broke him. The voices in his head were too much until finally, he started listening. Now he needs Cena to let him in.
This was a good segment. Cena might say some questionable things but when it comes time to cut a money promo he is still great. That brings the show to a close and what a nothing show it was. If this does well in the ratings it is only because there is no other sports on in the world.
Jeff Hardy def. Baron Corbin
Baron Corbin jumped Jeff Hardy before the match and took control. Corbin hit the Deep Six for a nearfall at which point Elias stood on the announce table and started playing guitar.
This distracted Corbin and let Hardy hit the Twist of Fury and the Swanton Bomb for the win.
This was really lame. They were hyping up Hardy’s return and really did nothing with it.
Daniel Bryan def. Cesaro
Mojo Rawley was briefly on commentary to let us know that Rob Gronkowski will be on SmackDown next week.
Daniel Bryan and Cesaro wrestled for like one minute and they went to a commercial. Just horrible. When they returned they were exchanging strikes. What they did was really good but this match was not very long. Bryan did his comeback and they started exchanging roll-ups with Bryan getting the win with a small package.
After the match, Shinsuke Nakamura hit the ring and attacked Bryan. Gulak and Zayn got into it and all five men brawled before Bryan hit a dive to wipe them out.
Miz and Morrison Promo
They talk about having beaten five other teams in the Elimination Chamber on Sunday. They do a lot of comedy saying if anyone in attendance thinks they aren’t the best tag team speak now. Of course, no one is in attendance to say otherwise. They talk about themselves a lot and say very little.
Elimination Chamber Rerun
This show has turned into a re-run of the tag team Elimination Chamber. So if you so choose you can check out our live coverage of the Elimination Chamber pay per view here.
Daniel Bryan and Drew Gulak backstage
Daniel Bryan walked up to Drew Gulak and said he wanted to be taught by Gulak. Sami Zayn and the crew walk up and say Gulak is a nobody. Bryan says he has an issue with Zayn but Cesaro steps in.
Bryan says if Cesaro wants to make something of it they both know where the ring is.
There are a lot of segments on this show and not a lot of wrestling.
Jeff Hardy backstage
Sami Zayn, Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura interrupted an interview. They joked around for a bit before leaving and JEff Hardy showed up.
Hardy mentioned that the last year was very hard for him but now he’s back. Baron Corbin walked up and said SmackDown is run by a benevolent king. Corbin makes fun of Hardy’s drinking issues and whatnot and Hardy said they have a match tonight.
Elias strolled up and Corbin said he doesn’t have time for him.
Roman Reigns Interview
Roman Reigns did an interview with Michael Cole where Cole asked him about appearing in front of no fans. Roman said he is in the entertainment business so it was weird.
Cole asked about the criticism Reigns has faced regarding not deserving the main event match at WrestleMania. Roman said if he can main event for a year in all the small towns in the world why can’t he main event WrestleMania.
Cole then asked about Roman and Goldberg’s similar styles. In other words, they both use the Spear. Roman said he was born and bred for this. He said he has mastered the nuance of performance. Okay, Roman.
There was very little to this interview that should make anyone excited about this match.
Bayley & Sasha Banks def. Nikki Cross & Alexa Bliss
Bayley and Sasha Banks came out to cut a promo to the empty building. They asked Triple H and Cole where Paige is and Cole said she is having travel issues. Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross came out and challenged them to a match.
This was a bizarre match as you could hear a lot of what was going on in the ring. This match was also not very good. They went back and forth for a long time before Asuka ran interference, allowing Sasha Banks to get the Banks Statement on Nikki Cross for the win.
Asuka continued to dance on the ramp as Banks and Bayley celebrated the win.
Triple H left commentary and I am sad.
Triple H welcomes us to the show
Triple H welcomes us to the show. He runs down what the Performance Center is and says this will be a show like we have never seen.
Triple H and Michael Cole are on commentary.
Welcome to our live coverage of WWE SmackDown! We have no idea what to expect from this show as no matches have been announced and there will be no audience in attendance. It will be very interesting to see what happens so stay tuned.
