On the Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that IMPACT offered massive contracts to The Good Brothers following their WWE releases. However, he explained they weren’t the only big deals that IMPACT has offered.
Meltzer noted that IMPACT higher-ups offered Chris Jericho a big deal to join the promotion last year. However, as we know, Jericho instead opted to sign with AEW and become the promotion’s first World Champion:
“You know Gallows and Anderson didn’t come cheap and they offered a ton of money to Chris Jericho, not Tony Khan money, but they offered him a ton of money to try and get him. If there wasn’t a Tony Khan I don’t know, I mean I think Jericho would have gone to Vince. Maybe he would have gone [to Impact]. Maybe he would have enjoyed that he could call his own shots.”
This comes after Don Callis recently said that if AEW wasn’t a thing, he is of the belief that Kenny Omega would have joined IMPACT Wrestling, despite reported interest from WWE at the time.
