WrestlingInc is reporting that Tom Phillips will no longer be the lead play-by-play commentator on Monday Night Raw.
The site is reporting that starting from next week’s episode of Monday Night Raw, Tom Phillips will no longer be calling the action. This replacement will be Adnan Virk:
Adnan Virk will be taking over play-by-play commentary on WWE RAW starting this Monday, Wrestling Inc. has learned. Virk will be replacing Tom Phillips, who had been handling play-by-play duties on the show since last year.
Adnan Virk is a Canadian sportscaster, who worked for ESPN from 2010 and 2019. WrestlingInc notes that Virk was “fired for allegedly leaking ESPN information to the media”.
[Virk] was fired for allegedly leaking ESPN information to the media. During an interview with The Washington Post last year, Virk said that he felt like ESPN was making an example out of him.
With Tom Phillips usually calling the Raw matches on pay-per-view, it remains to be seen whether or not the commentator is going to be at WrestleMania tonight and tomorrow night.
