Major Changes To AEW Creative Following Injury To Top Star AEW

Bryan Danielson suffered an injury during his dream match main event against Kazuchika Okada at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door last weekend.

Bryan suffered a broken arm in the match that was originally believed to keep him out for 6 – 8 weeks, but has been described as ‘worse than though’ by Bryan’s wife Brie Garcia.

Bryan’s injury has led to a major change in creative, as Danielson has been helping out with creative in the company, and we now have more details.

Per Fightful Select (subscription required), Danielson is being lauded within the company for what he has provided creatively.

It was noted that the Championship Friday episode of AEW Rampage was an idea from Tony Khan rather than Danielson as had been originally attributed.

Instead, Bryan has been working on the ‘first several week’s of Collision creative, with him said to have been very valuable in speaking with talent about how they want their creative to be handled, as well as how things are communicated between creative and talent.

As far as an on-screen role goes, Bryan’s injury has obviously also led to a lot of changes in that regard.

There were originally plans for Bryan to wrestle more on television following Forbidden Door, as well as him obviously being set to be involved in Blood and Guts next month in Boston.
