A major WWE star returned during tonight’s episode of Raw after almost a month of being absent since WrestleMania 36.
AJ Styles, who was buried by The Undertaker in the cinematic Boneyard Match which closed out the first night of the event on Saturday April 4, made his comeback tonight.
And he did it in emphatic fashion, specifically in the final round of the last chance gauntlet match to determine who would replace a storyline-injured Apollo Crews in the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match this coming Sunday.
The ‘Phenomenal One’ won out over Humberto Carrillo, making the Mexican tap to the Calf Crusher to advance to the most unique Money in the Bank match to date, held inside WWE HQ.
Prior to tonight, Styles’ last match on an episode of Raw itself was a win over Aleister Black on the March 2 episode.
The former WWE Champion now joins Black, Rey Mysterio, Daniel Bryan, King Corbin and Otis in the battle for the men’s briefcase on Sunday.
