It has been reported that several top AEW stars were not backstage for Wednesday night’s episode of Dynamite.
This week’s show was the last episode of Dynamite before AEW returns to the road. According to Fightful Select (subscription required), Jon Moxley wasn’t at Daily’s Place for the show.
It was noted that he hasn’t been at recent tapings as he’s taking paternity leave following the birth of his daughter last month. Moxley hasn’t wrestled for AEW since his Double or Nothing Tag Team Championship match in May.
Fightful Select also stated that Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler of FTR were also absent. It was pointed out that they were nowhere to be seen during the show’s main event, MJF vs Sammy Guevara.
MJF defeated Guevara on the show, with an assist from Shawn Spears. Following the match, a video package recapped the last 15 months in Daily’s Place.
After the video tribute, Jim Ross accidentally called the show “WWE Dynamite”. Ross has since commented on his commentary botch, and The Young Bucks have trolled the announcer on Twitter.
Also on the show, it was announced that Andrade El Idolo will make his AEW in-ring debut next week on the Road Rager special. Check out the full card for AEW Road Rager here.
