Major Update On Lineage Of New WWE Women’s Championship

Major Update On Lineage Of New WWE Women’s Championship WWE

WWE has introduced a lot of new championship titles over the past few months, including the new World Heavyweight Championship which is held by Seth Rollins on Raw.

When Rollins won the title, fans had questioned whether or not the lineage of the title will follow that of the former World Heavyweight Championship retired in 2013.

As it turns out, the title began a whole new lineage, with Rollins being officially recognised as the first champion.

On last night’s show, WWE fixed their problem regarding Women’s Championships, when Asuka ditched the Raw Women’s Championship in favour of the new ‘WWE Women’s Championship’.

With the new title’s introduction, fans had wondered whether the title would continue the Raw Women’s Championship lineage, or begin a new lineage with Asuka as the first champion.

Well, per WWE.com, the championship is listed as the WWE Women’s Championship, but continues the lineage of the Raw Women’s Championship rather than starting a new lineage.

Asuka will make her first defence of the WWE Women’s Championship on SmackDown in London in three weeks, taking on Charlotte Flair, who returned on last night’s show.

The status of Rhea Ripley’s SmackDown Women’s Championship has not yet been addressed.
