Mark Henry has a lot of wisdom after his two-decade career. So when he offers his point of view on someone like Apollo Crews, it is best to listen.
On a recent edition of Busted Open Radio, Henry was asked about Crews and he said he thinks Crews needs more bells and whistles. Here is the quote, courtesy of Cultaholic:
“I think talent-wise Apollo Crews, and that’s one of the reasons why I went and sought him out and brought him to the WWE is the talent. And during that time, he had somebody else that was talking which was Rich Swann. Which I brought in too. And that didn’t work out but nonetheless, Apollo’s stayed and is doing his thing and I want to see Apollo with more bells and whistles.
“I think Apollo needs a manager. I think Apollo needs a dominant storyline. He’s got something over somebody’s head, there’s got to be extra things and it’s no disrespect to him. It’s just that my knowledge of the force, if you will, is strong and I feel like his is not yet at the level of a fully-fledged Jedi Knight…There’s still room for improvement.”
Crews appeared to be on the brink of a push when he qualified for the Money in the Bank ladder match. However, that was not to be as an injury angle pulled him from the match last Monday on Raw. If he is going to break through maybe someone in WWE needs to heed Henry’s advice.
