Matches Announced For NXT Heatwave 2023

In two weeks, another special edition of WWE programming with NXT Heatwave 2023 and tonight on NXT, matches began to be announced.

During a passionate in-ring promo segment between Ilja Dragunov and Trick Williams, the pair vowed to go to war in two weeks at the August 22 special episode, NXT Heatwave.

Also set for the show, a match between Noam Dar and the Heritage Cup Champion Nathan Frazer to determine once and for all who is the ‘real’ Heritage Cup champ.

Dar continues to assert that because Frazer didn’t beat him for the title as he was out of action due to injury, he remains the rightful Heritage Cup champion and continues to carry the cup.

Tyler Bate actually beat Dar for the fake version of the cup tonight, but handed it back to Dar because he was so distraught about losing it.

Also at Heatwave, a match for the NXT Championship featuring champ Carmelo Hayes putting the title on the line against an opponent yet to be determined.

On next week’s NXT, Dijak will face off against Wes Lee to determine who will move forward to Heatwave to get the title shot against Hayes.

In an interview segment, Tiffany Stratton noted that she hadn’t thought of an opponent for her NXT Women’s Championship before concluding that perhaps she simply wouldn’t defend it against anyone at all.
