Shawn Michaels Sends Message To WWE Star After NXT Departure

Shawn Michaels has addressed a “surprising” WWE main roster call-up, praising a former NXT star who will now be joining Monday Night Raw.

During Friday’s (April 26) edition of SmackDown, both the Raw and SmackDown rosters were shaken up with the commencement of the WWE Draft.

One star who will be moving up to the main roster is Kiana James, who was selected as the final draft pick of the night for WWE Raw.

This call-up was presented as a surprise by both the SmackDown commentary team, and James herself, who admitted that she didn’t see her call-up coming.

WWE Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative Shawn Michaels has now taken to Twitter to share a video of him hugging James following the announcement that she’s Raw-bound.

Discussing James’ future, Shawn Michaels said:

Every time she steps between those ropes, @kianajames_wwe gets better and better.

She knows how good she is, and now she gets to show how good she is every Monday Night. #WWERaw #WWEDraft

James previously held the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship alongside Fallon Henley for 55 days in early 2023.

Another WWE main roster call-up was also announced during SmackDown, with former NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes officially joining the blue brand.
