Another NXT Call-Up In 2024 WWE Draft

On tonight’s episode of SmackDown the 2024 WWE Draft was underway and there was another NXT call up in the fourth and final round.

With a surprise draft pick from NXT, Kiana James was drafted to WWE Raw in the final pick of the first night of the draft.

Also in the fourth round, Raw kept all of Alpha Academy while SmackDown kept AJ Styles and picked up Andrade.

In the first round of the night, there was another NXT call-up in the form of Carmelo Hayes being picked for SmackDown.

Hayes actually had a match against Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes in the main event of tonight’s show.

The 2024 WWE Draft will continue on Monday Night Raw on April 29, and there will likely be more picks from tonight’s pool made on Talking Smack tomorrow.

Elsewhere in a backstage segment, Nick Aldis announced that at WWE Backlash, Bayley will defend her WWE Women’s Championship against both Naomi and Tiffany Stratton in a Triple Threat match.

He also deferred to Teddy Long to announce a very special tag team match for the upcoming premium live event.

At Backlash there will be a tag team match featuring the Bloodline (Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga) taking on Randy Orton and Kevin Owens.
