
Following his release from the company, former WWE star and Olympic Gold Medalist Gable Steveson is set for a potential NFL switch.
On May 3, WWE announced their latest set of releases, including former Olympic Gold Medalist Gable Steveson.
Steveson’s departure from the promotion ends his controversial run with the WWE that saw him have only one televised match.
On the latest edition of the MMA Hour, Ariel Helwani revealed a statement from Gable Steveson’s manager Dave Martin. He wrote:
“Gable Steveson is very grateful for the opportunities he had with WWE and would like to thank everybody in the organisation who helped him get there.”
“He would also like to thank all the fans who have supported him on his professional wrestling journey.”
“Now, Gable is ready to resume competing against elite level competition, and looks forward to sharing big news with you all very soon.”
Helwani then added that Steveson’s manager says multiple NFL teams have reached out to him, as well as Steveson training MMA at Kill Cliff FC:
“In addition to this, I can tell you via Dave that multiple NFL teams have reached out to Gable Steveson.”
“He does have that extra year of eligibility, and he has also been training at Kill Cliff FC with Henry Hooft and Robbie Lawler. There’s no shortage of opportunities to compete.”
