Newly Called Up WWE Star’s First Rivalry Confirmed? WWE

Following his first round selection in the WWE Draft 2024, newly called up WWE star Carmelo Hayes has confirmed his first rivalry.

On the April 26 edition of SmackDown, former NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes was selected in the first round to the blue brand. After coming up short against Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, Hayes declared himself for the King of the Ring tournament.

However, Bobby Lashley approached Melo and offered his help to the young talent. That didn’t go over well with Hayes disrespecting Lashley as a result of their confrontation in Nick Aldis’ office.

On the May 8 edition of WWE’s The Bump, Bobby Lashley commented on his confrontation with Carmelo Hayes and his comments towards the former WWE Champion.

In response to Lashley’s comments, Hayes took to social media to address what Lashley had to say. He wrote the following:

Haven’t seen @fightbobby this fired up since like 06. Maybe I’ll see you in the #KOTR finals #SmackDown

After more disrespect from the former NXT Champion, Lashley quote tweeted his comments and offered the following reply:

Speaking of 06, why don’t you go back and watch the tape and put the phone down.

All these punk ass kids think they can make an example of the vets of the industry. SMH.

Not one to let his new rival get the final word against him, Melo once again chimed in with another quote tweet of his own. He wrote:

Ok, anyone know where I can get a VHS player?

Both Carmelo Hayes and Bobby Lashley will compete in the King of the Ring tournament on the SmackDown bracket.

Hayes will face former King of the Ring Baron Corbin, while Lashley will face SmackDown’s newest star and member of The Bloodline, Tama Tonga.
