Sasha Banks, or as she’s now called, Mercedes Moné shocked no-one at all when she appeared at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17, but that’s because her appearance was pre-announced.
What did shock everyone was her new hair, which was different to her old hair. So that was pretty neat.
During her appearance at Wrestle Kingdom, Moné attacked IWGP Women’s Champion Kairi, and set up a match with her at NJPW Battle in the Valley in San Jose on February 18.
But what about her first matches in Japan? Well Dave Meltzer had some answers for us on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio.
He said:
“The first Mercedes match is obviously gonna be in San Jose. Mercedes will be at the Sumo Hall show which will be her first match in Japan, and I believe her second match in Japan will be on the STARDOM show at the Yokohama Arena, those are both in April.”

Moné hasn’t wrestled since May 2022, so her return to the ring is highly anticipated. According to Meltzer, Moné is only contracted to NJPW for a few matches, so it’s only a matter of time before rumours regarding her next destination start up once again.
