New Champion Crowned on WWE Raw

Tonight on WWE Raw, A new United States Champion was crowned.  AJ Styles was supposed to face Humberto Carillo tonight.

However, as Carillo was making his way out to the ring, The O.C. attacked him from behind.  Gallows and Anderson hit a Magic Killer onto the steel steps.

AJ Styles assumed he would get the night off, but that wasn’t in the cards.  Ricochet came out to check on Carillo.  Due to the underhanded tactics and him being a superhero, Ricochet challenged Styles.

However, Styles turned him down.  AJ would go on to turn down Drew McIntyre, Randy Orton, and Rey Mysterio.

In spite of AJ using every trick in the book, Gallows and Anderson said they thought a Fatal 4-way where the winner would get a title shot was a good idea.

Rey Mysterio ended up winning the Fatal 4-Way.  That would not be the only win of the night for the masked superstar.

Rey Mysterio beat AJ Styles with the help of Randy Orton.  Styles would take out the referee after a 619 from Mysterio.

This prompted The O.C., who had been ejected earlier, to come down and attack Mysterio.  Randy Orton would come down to make the save.

Mysterio hit a 619 into an RKO.  Due to the attack of Orton, Mysterio became the new United States Champion.  After the match, Rey Mysterio celebrated with his son, Dominik.

What does this mean for the US Title and Rey Mysterio going forward?  Will AJ Styles and Rey Mysterio be heading into a program? Or will AJ Styles turn his attention to Randy Orton for costing him his title?
