NJPW Star Discusses Contract Status & Allegiance To The Company NJPW

A NJPW star has discussed their contract status and their allegiance to the company.

The New Japan LA dojo has produced some quality in-ring workers, but there might not be anyone trained by Katsuyori Shibata quite like Clark Connors.

Connors had a breakout performance in a four way match for the AEW All Atlantic Championship at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door in June.

However, the NJPW star has been out of action since being sidelined with a herniated disc.

Ahead of his in-ring return at the Rumble On 44th Street event, Connors spoke with Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp and discussed his contract status with New Japan Pro Wrestling.

He said:

“I love New Japan. They’ve given me every opportunity in the world, but I’m also a businessman, don’t get me wrong. I would never say never to anything. I’d want to hear about it. It’s nice to know where you’re at in the wrestling world. But my allegiances are firmly in New Japan right now, as long as I get the chance to actually show what I can do and that’s all I got to say about that. I’ve been with the company for four years now under contract. Obviously the pandemic played a role in that. So we’ll see in 2023 and I know big things are coming on my end. So let’s see if they can hold up their end of the bargain, too. ‘Cause I want the best for everybody.”

Clark Connors will make his return against Minoru Suzuki at the NJPW Rumble On 44th Street event from New York City on October 28.

As previously reported, a top NJPW star has claimed that their upcoming Wrestle Kingdom 17 match is bigger than Kenny Omega vs. Kazuchika Okada.
