NXT Star Makes WWE Raw Debut

It was announced last week before Raw that Angel Garza and Andrade would team up at WrestleMania to challenge The Street Profits for the Raw Tag Team Championships.

To hype up the match, WWE planned on having Andrade and Garza team with Seth Rollins to take on Kevin Owens and The Street Profits in six-man tag team action on the go-home episode of Raw.

However, it was announced prior to the match last night that Andrade had sustained a rib injury during last week’s tapings and would be forced to sit out of the ‘Mania match. Zelina Vega announced that he would be replaced by NXT star Austin Theory.

While the inclusion of Theory does seem slightly random, Paul Heyman reportedly sees a lot of potential in the former EVOLVE star, so it shouldn’t be too surprising that he was called up to the main roster pretty quickly.

Last night marked only Theory’s sixth televised WWE match and his first on the main roster. His tag team title match on either Saturday or Sunday night will also mark his first pay-per-view outing.

It is unclear at this current moment whether this is a full-time call-up for Austin Theory or if he will be back in NXT once Andrade has recovered from his injury. Make sure you stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com for the latest on that.
