Paul Heyman Calls Out NFL Team

Paul Heyman has some free time now that Brock Lesnar is no longer the reigning, defending, undisputed, Universal Champion. He was most recently seen outside the wrestling business, calling out the NFL and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for what he called “blatantly stealing” a catch phrase.

He appeared on Twitter before the start of the NFL season, furious with the league and the Bucs owver a recently-released t-shirt.

Heyman first coined the phrase “Eat. Sleep. Conquer. Repeat. for his client Brock Lesnar in the buildup to his 2014 Night of Champions match against John Cena. Unsurprisingly, the legendary hype man’s slogan was a hit. Now, he claims that the NFL‘s “Eat. Sleep. Bucs. Repeat. shirt is a clear ripoff, and is demanding royalties.

That said, Heyman seems to have no issue with the countless other pieces of merchandise bearing similar slogans.

If you noticed that one of those slogans was used a few times, it’s because Calvin Harris’ remix of Fatboy Slim’s song Eat. Sleep. Rave. Repeat. reached #3 on the UK pop charts in 2013.

You know, 2013. A full year before Heyman developed “Eat. Sleep. Conquer. Repeat.” for Lesnar. Maybe Heyman is just looking for another fight, no matter where it comes from.

Either way, the Buccaneers didn’t seem to let the pressure get to them, winning their season opener 48-40.
