Randy Orton Calls AEW Star One Of The Greatest Minds In Wrestling

WWE veteran Randy Orton has recently praised an AEW talent, calling him one of the greatest creative minds in wrestling.

Christian Cage made his first AEW appearance at Revolution 2021, promoted as a “Hall of Fame worthy” signee. Randy Orton seems to agree with this billing, recently praising the star’s in-ring creativity.

Speaking on Broken Skull Sessions, Orton admitted that he’s done stuff in the ring with Christian that he’s never executed with anyone else. Explaining that the former World Heavyweight Champion could perfectly envision unique spots, Orton stated that Christian has one of the best minds in wrestling on a creative level.

Here is the full quote:

“Christian is one of the best minds when it comes to creatively looking at a match and figuring out how to execute them. There’s stuff I’ve done with him that I’ve never done before or after because it was all him. I was able to execute his ideas the way that he saw them. I have to give credit where it’s due, he knows his s**t.”

Christian and Orton notably feuded over the World Heavyweight Championship throughout 2011. Their SummerSlam 2011 encounter featured what many consider to be one of the best RKOs ever, with Christian being caught “outta nowhere” onto steel steps.

Christian has already made an impact on AEW Dynamite, forcing Kenny Omega to retreat before holding up the AEW Championship. He will make his in-ring debut for AEW in a match against Frankie Kazarian tonight on Dynamite.

Randy Orton is currently feuding with The Fiend, scheduled to face the supernatural star at WrestleMania 37. A bizarre pitch for Alexa Bliss’ character has recently been revealed.
