WWE has announced that The Viper Randy Orton will kick off tonight’s (August 9) episode of Monday Night Raw.
Orton has taken to Twitter to comment on his upcoming WWE return. Telling fans that he won’t keep them waiting, Orton tweeted:
“Been away for a bit, but tonight, I’m back on #WWERaw … and I won’t keep you waiting, I’m kicking off the show. #ViperIsBack”
Orton hasn’t appeared on Raw for over a month, last competing against John Morrison on the June 21 show. Prior to his absence, Orton was teaming with Matt Riddle as R-K-Bro.
It has been speculated that Orton and Riddle will challenge AJ Styles and Omos for the Raw Tag Team Championship at SummerSlam on August 21. On last week’s episode of Raw, Riddle was pinned by Omos. Riddle has also been wrestling AJ Styles at recent house shows.
Also on tonight’s episode, WWE Champion Bobby Lashley will “send a message” to his SummerSlam challenger, Goldberg. The former Universal Champion has not been advertised for the show.
A Charlotte Flair segment has also been announced, following her No Holds Barred loss to Nikki ASH.
