WWE and Vince McMahon have made a fair few decisions that have left wrestling fans and critics alike scratching their heads. The most recent of these seemingly baffling decisions has been revealed by Bryan Alvarez on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio.
WWE stars are reportedly told backstage not to sell during their entrances. The idea is that they are supposed to look like the real deal as they make their way down to the ring.
“They tell the guys to do, don’t limp on your entrance, don’t sell during your entrance — do your same entrance.”
The idea is that even if a superstar has been beaten down heavily earlier on in the night or on a previous show, they should not sell their injuries, but should continue their entrance as normal.
This certainly takes away from the legitimacy of wrestling. Selling is often one of the most overlooked and underrated parts of a match, and this begins from the entrance.
