A WWE star who was one of last week’s releases was backstage at Raw and scheduled for the show before being pulled at the last minute.
Sarah Logan was the only female main roster in-ring talent who was released last week, but, according to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, was actually set to appear on the show until she was written out of the script at the last minute.
Fightful did also report before Raw that she was backstage, adding that “numerous people loudly went to bat” for her and were upset at the fact she’d been released.
The fact that Logan, who is also the wife of Erik of the Viking Raiders tag team, was backstage could also imply there were contract talks between her and WWE to bring her back in after the support from those backstage.
What her role on the show would have been isn’t known, but it’s probably more logical that she wasn’t on TV considering Shayna Baszler broke her arm last week. She was, however, namedropped multiple times throughout the show during segments with Baszler and also her former Riott Squad teammates Ruby Riott and Liv Morgan.
The released stars all have 90-day non-compete clauses and are being paid for those 90 days, and WWE is planning on using some of them during that period. For example, Drake Maverick was released but is involved in the interim NXT Cruiserweight Championship tournament.
