UPDATE: Stone Cold Steve Austin has accepted Kevin Owens’ WrestleMania 38 invitation. More at this link.
An update has emerged on plans for Stone Cold Steve Austin at WrestleMania 38, following Kevin Owens’ invitation on WWE Raw.
On Monday’s show, Kevin Owens called out Austin for an appearance on the Kevin Owens Show on WrestleMania Saturday.
While multiple sources previously reported that WWE was hoping to have Austin wrestle Kevin Owens on the show, a recent report stated that as of Friday (March 4), Austin hadn’t signed on for the match.
Dave Meltzer now reports that WWE wasn’t able to talk Austin into an in-ring return, noting the following on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio:
“They didn’t talk Austin into doing a match, obviously he’s gonna end up stunning Kevin Owens, but he’s not gonna do a comeback match.”

Austin last wrestled a full match in 2002. The Texas Rattlesnake has gotten physical on WWE TV numerous times since, frequently returning to dish out Stunners.
