Despite competing alongside Roman Reigns to defeat Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre at Extreme Rules last Sunday, it seems the Undertaker is not currently scheduled for August 11’s SummerSlam.
Dave Meltzer said the following on Wrestling Observer Radio:
“They have a line-up for the show, and he’s not on it.”
This seems a bit odd not only because of the Extreme Rules match, but also because he was featured heavily in local advertising for the show. While local advertising generally isn’t accurate, it’s still strange practice to advertise someone that they know isn’t going to be there.
Although, as Meltzer did add, this can always change and he may end up on the card anyway. With Reigns and McIntyre not really having anything to do at the minute, and Shane seemingly set for a match with Owens, hopefully we don’t end up with the 256th rematch between the former two.
