WWE’s contract with the Amway Center is up at the end of October. This means WWE will have to figure out where they will be holding Raw and SmackDown very soon.
Earlier this week, Gary Cassidy of Inside the Ropes, broke the news WWE had informed talent to begin preparing for travel again once the Thunderdome contract expires.
Now, Fightful Select and Sean Ross Sapp are reporting WWE talent are upset about the decision to hit the road again. The fact this news is coming after a major outbreak at the performance center and several superstars missing Clash of Champions due to contract tracing is particularly upsetting.
From Fightful:
“Unanimously, the reception was that of groans and frustration, with many thinking that the decision to do this after the company knew of another outbreak was a poor one. One top wrestler said that they’ve not seen much from WWE to instill confidence that it would get any better on the road. Every talent we’ve spoke to misses live audiences, but have also expressed concerns to us about the realities of traveling.”
However, Triple H did note during an NXT conference call that WWE has no plans to travel with live audiences in the near future. Of course, it’s not like Triple H would ever hide something from people during a conference call. Only time will tell if WWE will travel again.
Whatever the case, let’s hope all the wrestlers and other staff stay safe and healthy over the weeks to come.
