Just under two weeks ago, WWE released 20 main roster stars and a handful of NXT stars in a move designed to save money, despite the company heading for record profits.
This morning we learned of the released of former UFC Champion Cain Velasquez, who managed just a single TV match during his run with WWE, a loss against Brock Lesnar at Crown Jewel 2019.
Judging by reports, it seems WWE isn’t done with releasing stars, and will in fact agree to release “just about anyone”, according to the ever reliable WrestleVotes on Twitter.
Hearing from a few different sources that WWE is willing to grant a release to “just about anyone” who requests one. Basically if a talent wants out, they can go. Will be interesting to see if anyone REALLY does want out, especially during this uncertain time.

Of course you would have to imagine the “just about anyone” means anyone WWE isn’t desperate to keep such as Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins…etc.
It will be interesting to see if anyone actually takes advantage of this new WWE stance, or whether people are simply too keen on keeping their jobs during this time of pandemic and financial insecurity.
Do you think anyone will take advantage of this? Let us know in the comments on Twitter.
