Rey Mysterio Not Cleared To Compete

Rey Mysterio Not Cleared To Compete

Friday night (October 1) was the opening night of the 2021 WWE Draft, which saw half of the WWE roster asigned to their respective brands.

One pick during the show saw Rey Mysterio and his son Dominik drafted from SmackDown to the Raw brand. However, it may still be a while before we see the masked legend make his mark on Monday nights.

Fightful Select (subscription required) is reporting that Rey Mysterio is currently not medically cleared to wrestle. This is due to an ‘undisclosed medical reason’.

Rey was set to compete in a six-man tag team match against the Bloodline at a live event in San Juan, Puerto Rico on Saturday night. Instead, Dominik defeated Jinder Mahal, while the Bloodline took on Finn Balor, Cesaro and Drew McIntyre.

It was not specified how long Rey would be out of action, but we wish him a full and complete recovery.
