Earlier this week it was reported that Ric Flair had threatened WWE with legal action. This came after he filed to trademark “The Man”, the current nickname of Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch.
Flair reportedly wanted to be paid by WWE for them to use the nickname, something that caused a rift between the two-time WWE Hall of Famer and his daughter Charlotte Flair.
It seems like Flair just can’t stay out of the news, as TMZ is reporting that Ric has signed a new deal with Adidas.
While it is not known what Flair and Adidas will be doing together, the 16-World Champion had the following to say on his new opportunity, stating that he is coming for Nike:
Ready for the good news? Adidas thinks I’m ‘The Man.’ I signed a deal with them, and we’re fixin’ to make Nike the 2nd brand. It’s not gonna be Air Jordan anymore, it’s gonna be Air Flair, and I can’t jump.”
“It’s gonna be Adidas, Woooooooo!!!”
“This is me and Damian Lillard. Harden, James Harden, who I love and should be the MVP. Nike’s gonna be [outta here]. We’re gonna fire a shot over Phil Knight’s bow.”
Ric Flair will likely be pocketing a huge sum of money from his new deal. Make sure you stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com for more information on the matter.
