Roman Reigns Praises Cody Rhodes Ahead Of WWE Return WWE

Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns has praised Cody Rhodes ahead of his WWE return.

The former AEW EVP will return to action during Saturday’s (January 28) Royal Rumble match. Rhodes has been out of action since June 2022, with his most recent match taking place at the Hell in a Cell premium live event.

During the main event of the show, Rhodes faced off against Seth Rollins, with a completely torn pectoral muscle.

Speaking on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Roman Reigns noted that Rhodes’ performance took a lot of courage.

Also hyping his storyline with Sami Zayn and the Bloodline, Reigns said:

“That’s the beauty of it now. We got so much stuff going on. Right now, we hit Sami Zayn that’s in the mix. That’s within my Bloodline. We’ve been doing some beautiful TV over the past six months.

“We have another guy by the name of Cody Rhodes who’s coming back from injury. He was super white-hot. If you go back to, I believe it was a Hell a Cell match he had with Seth Rollins, his pectoral muscle was completely torn in half.

“If you go back and look, it’s completely black, a giant bruise covering this guy, a fourth of his body is completely broken.

“He goes out there and he puts on a 40-minute performance, and just completely wins over our entire fanbase. So lotta guts, lot of courage out of him. He’s gonna be coming back soon too.”

It has been heavily speculated that Cody Rhodes could win the Royal Rumble match and challenge for Reigns’ gold at WrestleMania 39.

Other names who many have predicted could win the Rumble include Sami Zayn and The Rock.

Reigns has addressed rumors about potentially facing The Rock, which you can read more about right here.
