Ronda Rousey defeated Alexa Bliss inside the Barclays Center at SummerSlam to capture the Raw Women’s Championship. She climbed to the top of the Raw women’s division just 133 days after making her in-ring debut at WrestleMania 34.
Ronda Rousey will be making history on April 7th when she defends her Raw Women’s Championship in the main event of WrestleMania against Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair. However, Fightful is reporting that Ronda Rousey has broken a record of her own this weekend, becoming the longest reigning Raw Women’s Champion in the title’s history. Rousey has been champion for 224 days.
Since the WWE Raw Women’s Championship was introduced back at WrestleMania 32, there have been 14 separate title reigns, shared between six girls. The longest reign previously lasted 222 days, a record held by Alexa Bliss, the woman Rousey beat to capture the title.
Sparring an impromptu title defence, which is actually not likely given WWE’s track record, Ronda Rousey will walk into the main event of WrestleMania having held her title for 231 days. The UFC Hall of Famer will have spent 63% of her first year in WWE as the brand’s top champion.
