Earlier today it was reported that Ronda Rousey would be leaving WWE shortly after WrestleMania, the belief being that she intends to start a family with husband Travis Browne.
The belief was that Ronda had only signed a one year deal after joining the promotion last year rather than the multi-year deal that had previously been reported.
However, TMZ Sports has now claimed this is not the case, stating that Ronda’s contract runs until April 2021 and she is not leaving WWE.
The TMZ report states that WWE sources have told them Ronda is “super happy” with her role in WWE and highlighted a line in Dave Meltzer’s original report that stated Ronda would “probably remain affiliated with the company after WrestleMania”.
So what can we ascertain from the contrasting reports? It does seem possible that Ronda will take a brief hiatus after WrestleMania to recharge her batteries and allow her to come back fresh a few months later, and of course she could decide to start a family at any time, but for now we should assume she is staying with the promotion for the foreseeable . . .
