AEW Star Knew Roman Reigns Would Be ‘The One’ In WWE

An AEW star says he knew Roman Reigns would be “the one” in WWE.

Roman Reigns is the current Undisputed WWE Universal Champion and the clear top guy in all of the company, coming off the heels of another successful defense against Jey Uso in Tribal Combat at SummerSlam.

It is hard to imagine that just five short years ago Reigns was struggling to get over to this degree and fill the void of top star in WWE.

One of the men who is very familiar with “The Tribal Chief” during this time period is current AEW star and ROH World Television Champion Samoa Joe.

In a new interview with Metro, Joe discussed his time working with Roman Reigns in WWE and stated he knew Roman would make it to where he is today. He said:

“Just understand that a lot of what you see today, I saw back then and knew it was inevitable… That’s the biggest thing that I can take away from Roman and being in the ring with him, I realised that, ‘Yep, this is gonna be the one.’”

“I knew it just took time, and him doing his thing, and then finally getting the opportunity to be something that he’s more comfortable being. And there we go!’”
