Santino Marella Wants To Pay Tribute To Time With Beth Phoenix By Working With Top IMPACT Star WWE

Santino Marella wants to pay tribute to his time with Beth Phoenix by working with a top IMPACT Wrestling star.

At IMPACT Hard To Kill in January, Santino Marella joined IMPACT Wrestling and became the company’s new Director of Authority, replacing Scott D’Amore. His stint with the promotion has been well received by fans thus far.

The former WWE Intercontinental Champion is often remembered for his run with Beth Phoenix with the pair known as “Glamarella” showing a great deal of on-screen chemistry together.

Speaking with Metro UK, Marella praised Phoenix and said that she’s a WWE Hall of Famer for a reason. He stated:

“I knew Beth from OVW. I love Beth to death, her and her husband [Edge], they’re just awesome people.”

“When two people really get wrestling, they get [the idea of] working together, they get the notion of making the people you work with look better and in turn you look better.”

“She’s a very giving person, and that’s why we were comfortable giving each other as much as we could because we knew it would be reciprocated. She’s obviously a Hall of Famer, she’s amazing, man.”

Noting that he would like to pay tribute to his past partnership with “The Glamazon” by working with former two-time IMPACT Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace, Marella said:

“I wouldn’t mind doing something, kind of like a tribute to that moving forward with Jordynne Grace. Her [husband Jonathan Gresham is] there so it’s kind of awkward.”

As previously reported, Santino Marella stated which former WWE stars he would like to see in IMPACT Wrestling.

Meanwhile, Jordynne Grace has a rematch clause to invoke for the IMPACT Knockouts World Championship after losing the title to Mickie James at Hard To Kill.
