Saraya says a former WWE star “was never given her flowers.”
Saraya, formerly known as Paige, was one of the building blocks that helped bridge the gap from the Divas era to the Women’s Revolution era in WWE. One star that Saraya is very familiar with from her time in the company was Alicia Fox. Both women were former Divas Champions and feuded over the title.
Speaking with Josh Martinez on Superstar Crossover, the AEW star reflected on working with Fox and stated she was a great wrestler who never gets her credit because of the era she is associated with. She said:
“So I actually posted this recently, but like, I feel like Alicia Fox didn’t get her flowers for the longest time.”
“Because if you look back at her stuff, it’s everything looks aggressive, but she’s safe. All her matches were good. You have to watch them back. Because every time I wrestled her, I felt really, really safe.”
“So I felt like she was very underrated. Also, she was in the Divas era. So if people didn’t give her the chance, and just thought, ‘No, she’s a diva, she could possibly be a good wrestler,’ but no, she was a great wrestler.”
Today, Saraya works with All Elite Wrestling and is a member of The Outcasts stable with Ruby Soho and Toni Storm. The trio is currently feuding with AEW Women’s World Champion Jamie Hayter and Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D.
